LOGIC CONTROLS CUSTOMER DISPLAY WINDOWS JPOS DRIVER INSTALLATION ================================================================ 10/09/2004 V1.70 This zip file for our JPOS Pole Display contains drivers for Windows 98/ME and Windows NT/2000. Follow the following installtion instructions carefully. If you have our USB interface JPOS pole display, you have to install USB driver first before installing the JPOS drivers. Models supported by our JPOS driver are: LD9900, LD9990, LD9900U, LD9900UP PD3900, PD3990, PD3900U, PD3900UP PD6900, PD6990, PD6900U LT9900, LT9990, LT9900U, LT9900UP TD3900, TD3990, TD3900U, TD3900UP Make sure that the pole display being used is one of the above models. JPOS DRIVER INSTALLATION ------------------------ 1. Java J2SE v 1.4.2_01 SDK or JRE must be installed first. Download and install from Sun Microsystems' web site www.java.sun.com 2. The Logic Controls JPOS display drivers are contained in a zip file. Unzip the files into a harddisk folder and open the folder. 3. Click on file to start installation and follow instructions on the screen to go through installation. Restart computer when installation finish. 4. After installation, you have to setup the JPOS driver by running PDSetup.bat. This file is located in the destination folder where JPOS driver was installed (Default folder name is C:\LogicControlsJavaPOS). Running PDSetup.bat brings up a dialog window. The left part of the window is for setting JPOS parameters and the right part is for testing commands sent to the JPOS display. 5. Select appropriate port name. For USB displays, select "USB" ports for corresponding models if "device name" USB driver is installed. If virtual COM port drivers are installed, select the COM port name indicated in Device Manager. (see USB driver installation instructions for details of the two driver types). 6. Click "Save" to save settings. 7. To test the pole display, follow the order of buttons. First click "Open", then "Claim", then "Enable Device". Now the pole display is ready to display messages. 8. Click on "Display Text", a string is displayed on the pole display. Test other functions to verify operations. 9. Click on "Release" and then "Close". Click on "Exit" to quit the program. The JPOS driver has been setup and ready to run JPOS application softwares. 10. Setup the POS application softwareThe to work with the Logic Controls line display. (please refer to the POS software manual for details).
