As we’re all aware, the virus pandemic that originated in China has continued, spread to other parts of the world, and has yet to find a resolution. We at Logic Controls offer our sympathies and well wishes to anyone that has been impacted by this in any way.

As we shift our focus to how business operations have been affected, this is where the situation as a whole currently stands. We anticipated and planned for the Chinese Lunar New Year, originally from January 24th – 30th, which comes with a yearly shutdown of production in observance of the holiday. This usually reliable timetable was affected when at least 24 of China’s 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions ordered businesses not to reopen until February 10th, at the earliest, due to the virus. Though some businesses have now reopened, many are operating well below their usual output as the majority of workers have yet to return due to lockdowns, checkpoints, and fear throughout the country. Businesses are required to provide masks, record temperatures, and the track movements of the workers that have returned in an effort to add an extra layer of safety. This extremely low production output has been coupled with shipping delays as most freight shipments have either been canceled or are shipping at far below capacity. This shipping backlog is due to ports not being able to fully field the workforce required to load and unload the freight. The very few ships that are carrying freight from China are currently subject to intense screening and quarantine protocols before entering other countries. Multiple countries, including the United States, aren’t permitting shipping personnel to enter their ports if they have been in China over the past 14 days. This has resulted in numerous ships being marooned at sea until they pass this quarantine period.

Progress is continually being made and the outlook of returning to normal procedures gains more traction every day. We’ve explored other manufacturing options, including receiving products from Taiwan, in an effort to reduce delays as much as possible. We will continue to work diligently and exercise all opportunities available to us to provide modern solutions in this modern world.

The balance between safety and business is a delicate one that is currently being maneuvered on a worldwide scale due to this pandemic. Business sectors across the spectrum have been affected, and like us, we are eager to return to routine operations. While operations have been affected, they are by no means at a halt and we will continue to service your needs with 100% commitment. We thank you for your patience and continued support as we navigate this uncharted landscape. Here at Logic Controls, we strive to operate with transparency and proactiveness, and we will continue to provide updates as the situation unfolds.
